Cougars Recognized For Men's Lacrosse in WHAC Postseason Awards
(Fort Wayne, IN)-- (Complete Honors) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the 2022 season honors for men's lacrosse. All-Conference Teams and individual special honors were voted on by the head coaches in the league.
Indiana Tech senior Andrew Ryan earned Offensive Player of the Year honors as he scored 53 goals and finished with 28 assists. Fernando Robison of Siena Heights picked up Defensive Player of the Year with 198 ground balls and 262 of 358 face offs. Lawrence Tech's Grady Holmes was named Newcomer of the Year with 27 goals and 15 assists in his freshman debut.
Coach of the Year was awarded to Bryan Seaman of Indiana Tech after he lead the Warriors to an undefeated season and the the regular-season title. Taylor head coach Chad Newhard was voted as the Champions of Character Coach.
In addition to First and Second Team All-Conference, the WHAC also announced its All-Academic Team (juniors or above in academic standing with cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and in attendance at nominating school for one full year) and the Champions of Character Team (best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership).
Cleary had three student-athletes named to the All-Academic team. They were: Thomas McDonald, Danny Pudduck, and Mike Smith. Mike Smith was also recognized as Cleary's nominee to the WHAC's Champions of Character team.
