(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's lacrosse team played host to the Trojans of Taylor University, and saw the Trojans take care of business in a WHAC matchup.
Taylor scored the game's first four goals, but Cleary's Mike Smith got the Cougars on the board, with an assist from Danny Pudduck, with 10 seconds left in the opening quarter to make the score 4-1. Taylor held the Cougars without a goal in the second quarter, and went into halftime with a 10-1 lead.
After scoring the first five goals of the third quarter, Danny Pudduck scored his first goal while down a man to cut the deficit to 15-2, but Taylor would not let up the rest of the way, adding ten more goals through the fourth quarter. Cleary would score the game's final goal with just over two minutes left, when Joe Heinzelman slotted one home with an assist from Jose Reducindo to make the score 25-3.
Adam Roper was stellar once again in goal, blocking a WHAC and Cleary record 32 saves (on 93 shots faced) and had a save percentage of 56.1%.
Cleary will finish the 2022 season at home on Saturday, April 23, when they host the Madonna University Crusaders at Lake Trust Stadium. The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM, and will recognize the program's seniors as part of senior day.
