(Sylvania, OH)-- The Cleary Cougar men's lacrosse team made the trip to Ohio to take on the Lourdes Gray Wolves, in a game that was moved up to beat the weather, and saw the host Gray Wolves pick up a WHAC victory.
Lourdes would dominate the opening quarter, as they would build an 8-0 lead through the first fifteen minutes. The second quarter was much of the same, but Cleary would get on the board halfway through the quarter when Riley Finlay scored an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to 12-1. That score would remain until halftime, with the Cougars trailing.
With the rain pouring harder in the second half, goals were at a premium, but Cleary would get their second goal of the game when Zach Eakes scored with an assist from Danny Pudduck to make the score 13-2. Lourdes would add one more goal in the quarter, and in the fourth, Danny Pudduck scored Cleary's final goal with just over eight minutes remaining in the game. Lourdes would add two more goals late to secure a 16-2 victory.
Adam Roper suffered the loss in goal, making 8 saves on 24 shots. Jose Reducindo won 7 faceoffs and picked up 6 ground balls, while Zach Eakes, Riley Finlay, and Danny Pudduck each a 1 goal for the Cougars.
Cleary drops to 0-11, 0-6 in WHAC play, and will next make the trip to Indiana Tech on Saturday for a matchup with the Warriors. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM.
