(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar women's soccer team took on the Cornerstone Golden Eagles in a WHAC matchup at Lake Trust Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Both teams had chances to take control of the game, but the visiting Golden Eagles would finish the first half strong, and start the second half strong, scoring their two goals within the 10 minutes on either side of halftime, as they took the game by a 2-0 scoreline.
Tara McGrath suffered the loss in goal, making 4 saves on 6 shots. Cornerstone held a 14-10 shot advantage, with both teams putting six shots on target. The Golden Eagles also held a 5-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Cleary drops to 2-8 on the season, 0-2 in the WHAC. The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday, October 4, when they host the Concordia Cardinals in a WHAC matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM at Lake Trust Stadium.
