WHAC Announces All-Conference Awards for Women's Golf
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced it's 2025 season awards for women's golf, and multiple student-athletes have been recognized.
Jana L'Esperance became the first golfer in program history to be named First-Team All-WHAC. L'Esperance, a junior from Byron, had the fifth best total scores of the combined WHAC Fall Preview and this week's WHAC Championships, both played at Stonehedge North Golf Club in Augusta, Michigan. She shot rounds of 78-77-79 in the fall, and 79-85-80 this week, to total 478 strokes. That total allowed her to finish in the top-six, which was enough to be named First-Team All-WHAC.
Finishing in seventh place and being named to the Second-Team All-WHAC was teammate Jessica Shay. Shay, a junior from Batavia, Ohio, had rounds of 79-83-82 in the fall, and 82-80-78 in the spring to total 485. She finished three strokes out of sixth place, and seven strokes behind her teammate L'Esperance.
Named to the Champions of Character team as the Cougars' representative was Alexis Sharplin, for best best representing the five core character values of the NAIA.
