Cougars Make History at WHAC Championships, Finish 4th
(Augusta, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar Women's Golf team finished their last tournament of the 2023 - 2024 season today at the WHAC Championships as they traveled to Augusta, Michigan to take on Stonehedge North Golf Club. Originally in 5th place as a team, they overtook Aquinas University on Day 2 beating them out by 8 strokes.

Madeline Swett would lead the Cougars after posting round scores of 84, 77, and 85 to tie for 14th place overall. Her second-round score of 77 is a new collegiate personal best score.

Jana L'Esperance tied for 17th place overall with round scores of 85, 85, and 80.

Alexis Sharplin would post round scores of 87, 82, and 85. She tied for 22nd overall and also posted her collegiate personal best in the second round when she shot an 82.

Lauryn Jerke tied for 28th overall after posting round scores of 86, 88, and 85.

Maryann Montgomery would post round scores of 96, 95, and 83 to tie for 40th overall. Her round 3 score of 83 is a new collegiate personal best score.
The Cougars would place 4th overall as a team after posting a team score of 1007 (+143) over the 2-day tournament. The 4th place team finish for the Cougars is the highest they've ever finished in the WHAC Championships.
