Women's Golf Takes 4th in Final Tuneup Before WHAC Championships
(Tecumseh, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar women's golf team played their final match before next week's WHAC Championships Thursday afternoon, and the Cougars took home 4th place at the Adrian College Spring Invitational.
Cleary entered two teams into the event. For Cleary's "A" team:
- Autumn Blaney posted a +7 round of 79 to finish in 5th place overall
- Lauryn Jerke shot an 82 to finish in 10th place
- Kelsey Elliott shot a 93 to finish in a tie for 23rd
- Finishing right behind Elliott was Alexis Sharplin who shot a 94 to finish in a tie for 26th
- Madeline Swett shot a 97 to finish in 28th
Cleary's "A" team posted a 348, and finished in 4th place.
For Cleary's "B" team:
- Olivia Rushton shot an 87 to finish in a tie for 16th
- Jana L'Esperance and Emma Smith each posted a 103 to tie for 31st
- Maryann Montgomery shot a 110 to finish in 39th
Cleary's "B" team shot a 403, and finished in 7th place.
The Cougars will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday when they play in the WHAC Championships at Stonehedge North Golf Course in Augusta, Michigan.
