Dugal, Hoelscher, and Holman Highlight Cleary Women's Basketball Postseason Awards
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced it's 2025-26 season awards, and multiple women's basketball players have been regognized.
Izzy Dugal became the first player in program history to be named First-Team All-WHAC. Dugal, a senior from Waterford, led the team in scoring at 16.1 points per game, ranking eighth in the league, and shot 53.1% from the floor to be second best among WHAC players. She also grabbed 7.2 rebounds per game, which was second most on the Cougar roster. She is currently third all-time in total points in Cougar history.
Samantha Hoelscher also made history for the Cougars, becoming the first women's basketball player to be named to the All-Conference teams for back to back seasons after she was named Second-Team All-Conference. Hoelscher, a senior from Maria Stein, Ohio, finished second on the team with 14.7 points per game. Her 9.5 rebounds per game was fourth-most in the WHAC, and her 4.9 offensive rebounds per game rank ninth in all of the NAIA. She will leave the program as the all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and is tied for first in steals.
Melanin Holman would also earn recognition, as she was named to the WHAC All-Freshman team. Holman, a freshman from Grand Rapids, finished fourth in the WHAC with 70 steals, averaging 2.7 steals per game. She would also score 10.7 points per game, grabbed 5.7 rebounds per game, and had 4.2 assists per game, which ranked third in the WHAC.
Named to the Champions of Character team as the Cougars' representative was Jess Andrew, for best best representing the five core character values of the NAIA.
Finally, seven members of the team were named to the All-Academic Team. To be honored, student-athletes must have had at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have attended Cleary for at least one full year. They were (in alphabetical order):
