Bio
Matt Santos was announced as the 4th head coach in Cleary history on June 13, 2022.
A native of Saginaw, Michigan, Santos wrestled at Michigan State University from 2016-2022. While at MSU, Santos went 32-43 in five seasons, and eanred USA Wrestling Greco-Roman All-American honors after placing 7th in the 60 kg weight class ath the 2020 U23 Greco-Roman championships. That same season, Santos also earned the MSU Commit Award for his efforts within the program.
Santos was a stellar prep student-athlete, as he was a 4-time state qualifier at Sagainaw's Swan Valley High School, including an individual state championship during the 2015-16 season. He finished his career at Swan Valley with a 210-11 record, and was the #23 ranked prospect in the nation for his weight class coming out of high school.
Santos has also worked as a coach for the Northern Elite club team since 2016, and was a Team USA U23 World Team trials coach in 2022.
Santos lives in Howell with his wife, Rae, and their two dogs, Moose and Teddy.
