Wrestling Drops Pair of Duals in Grand Rapids

(Grand Rapids, MI)-- The Cleary wrestling team hit the road to the west side of the state, as they took on the Marian Knights and the Cornerstone Golden Eagles in a pair of WHAC duals Tuesday evening.

vs. Marian:

• Ryan Weaver lost his 141 lb. match via a pin
• In the 149 lb. division, Carson Boisvert was pinned
• Ty Johnson suffered a pin defeat in the 157 lb. division
• Lenton Patrick would get pinned in the 174 lb. division
• Tyler Brooks dropped his 184 lb. match via a pin
• Roberto Perez was pinned in the 285 lb./ Heavyweight division.

As a team, Cleary lost the match by a score of 60-0.

vs. Cornerstone:

•  In the 141 lb. class, Ryan Weaver lost his match via a major decision
• Carson Boisvert would drop his 149 lb. bout via a 10-3 minor decision
• Ty Johnson would get pinned in the 157 lb. class
• Wyatt Clements lost his 174 lb. match by a technical fall
• Tyler Brooks would get pinned in the 184 lb. class
• Roberto Perez would need overtime, but ultimately won his 285 lb./Heavyweight match by a 4-1 decision

As a team, Cleary lost to Cornerstone by a score of 48-3.
