Track & Field Makes Strides at CMU Chippewa Challenge

(Mt. Pleasant, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar track & field teams were in mid-Michigan Saturday, as they competed in the Chippewa Challenge, hosted by Central Michigan University.
In the Men's Meet:
- Christian Hammond earned a 5th place finish in the 100M, with a time of 11.87
- Hammond would also place 6th in the 200M, after running a 24.19, a personal record
- Donovan White would win the 800M with a time of 2:02.12, while teammate Camden Staples finished in 5th with a 2:03.54
- Ethan Beres took 7th in the 5000M after running a 16:20.23
- In the shot put, Logan Rogers finished in 7th with a 10.57M throw, while Jerome Ellis threw 8.94M to finish in 9th
- Jerome Ellis finished in 6th in the discus after throwing 37.21M. Logan Rogers threw 32.59M and finished in 9th
In the Women's Meet:
- Jillian Clark finished in 16th place with a 3:00.34 in the 800M
- Lauren Gores set a new personal record and won the 3000M after running 10:46.50
- Carlee Beeney finished in 7th in the discus with a thrwo of 37.13M
Both men's and women's teams will be back in action this Thursday and Friday when they participate in the Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational, hosted by Siena Heights University.
