Men's Track and Field Has Strong Showing at GINA Relays at Hillsdale; Hoelscher and Beeney Place

(Hillsdale, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's outdoor track and field teams were in Hillsdale Thursday and Friday to compete in the GINA Relays.

In the Men's Meet:

Donovan White won the 1500 M with a time of 4:20.48, earning 10 team points. Teammate Hunte Anderson finished in 5th with a time of 4:29.12, and earned 4 team points. Preston Mackenzie finished in 8th with a time of 4:35.26, and earned 1 team point.
Simbarashe Mazarura jumped 6.47 M in the long jump to claim 3rd place, and earned 6 team points. Rodrick Campbell just missed out on a team point with a jump of 6.09 to finish in 9th
In the hammer, Jacob Haley threw 30.78 M to finish in 19th. Hunter Blackhurst threw 22.05 M and finished in 21st
Noah Simpson earned a 2nd place finish in the javelin, with a throw of 56.01 M to earn 8 team points. Rodrick Campbell threw 45.56 M, finishing in 6th, and earning 3 team points.
In the 5000 M, Joel Hartleb ran 17:57.32 to finish in 16th
Jacob Chouinard ran a 11.65 in the 100 M to finish in 21st. Nathan Vaske ran 11.92, and Matt Booth ran 12.16 to finish in 22nd and 23rd
Matt Booth claimed a 14th place finish in the 200 M with a time of 24.01
In the 400 M, Donovan White finished in 9th place with a time of 52.78. Dylan Tammadge ran a 57.54 to finish in 15th
Camden Staples ran a 2:08.44 in the 800 M to finish in 8th place, and earned 1 team point. Preston Mackenzie and Hunter Anderson finihed in 14th and 15th
Luke St. Ledger would finish in 7th place to earn 2 team points in the 400 M hurdles, after running 1:08.00
Luke St. Ledger finished in 4th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.97, earning 5 team points
The 4 x 100 M relay team of Jacob Chouinard, Rodrick Campbell, Nathan Vaske, and Simbarashe Mazarura ran a 46.23 to finish in 4th place
In the shot put, Tyree Jones threw 10.82 M to finish in 14th
Noah Simpson threw 42.20 M in the discus to earn an 8th place finish, and earned 1 team point. Derrick Murray threw 34.91 to finish in 20th

As a team, Cleary earned 46 team points, and tied for 6th place out of 11 teams

In the Women's Meet:

Samantha Hoelscher finished in 8th place in the long jump with a mark of 4.99 M, earning 1 team point
In the 5000 M, Lauren Gores ran 18:56.13 to finish in 17th
In the 400 M dash, Samantha Hoelscher ran 59.07 to finish in 4th, and earned 5 team points
Rylie Bjorkman ran a 2:45.59 i nthe 800 M to finish in 9th. Kiera Smith ran a 3:16.58 to finish in 14th
Samantha Hoelscher would earn 6 team points in the 400 M hurdles with a time of 1:04.60 to finish in 3rd
Sydney McCaig threw the shot put 9.88 M to finish in 10th
In the discus, Carlee Beeney threw 41.90 M to finish in 3rd, earning 6 team points. Sydney McCaig threw 27.00 M to finish in 23rd

As a team, Cleary earned 18 team points and tied for 9th

Cleary will be back in action next Thursday and Friday when they run in the Don Kleinow Invitational on the campus of Siena Heights University.
