(Southfield, MI)-- It was a challenging day for the Cleary Cougar men's lacrosse team, as they went on the road to Southfield and fell to the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils 25-1 Saturday afternoon.
After both teams played good defense through the first quarter that saw the Blue Devils lead 3-0 through fifteen minutes, the hosts exploded for nine more goals to take a 12-0 lead into the halftime break. Cleary's defense would improve in the third quarter, but they still could not find the back of the net, and Lawrence Tech added on three more goals to take a 15-0 lead. Cleary would get on the board after Riley Finlay scored an unassisted goal in the fourth quarter, and Lawrence Tech would let the clock hit zeroes with a 25-1 lead.
Adam Roper again played well in goal while suffering the defeat, making 26 saves. Riley Finlay's goal was his third on the season. Cleary will be back in action on Wednesday, April 6, when they host the UM-Dearborn Wolverines at Lake Trust Stadium. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
