D3 Hockey Suffers Pair of Defeats to UM Flint
(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar ACHA D3 hockey team played a pair of games vs. the UM-Flint Wolverines this weekend.
In Game 1 at UM-Flint: Cleary would get on the board first in the second period, as Wayne Taiman would score, with an assist from Ben Kozar. UM-Flint would tie the game going into the final period. After the Wolverines scored to take the lead, Taiman would score his second goal of the game, with assists from Kozar and Brady Meyer to equalize. A UM-Flint goal with 10 minutes left would prove to be the game winner, as the game ended with a 3-2 scoreline.
In Game 2 vs. UM-Flint: The Wolverines would score with just over 6 minutes left in the first period to take a 1-0 lead. After neither team would score in the second period, UM-Flint added a second goal with just over 15 minutes left in action. Cleary would cut that deficit back to one, as Trevor Crowe scored, with assists from Logan Porter and Brady Meyer, to make the score 2-1. UM-Flint would respond with a pair of goals over the final 11 minutes to secure the 4-1 victory.
TJ Ramsey made 30 saves in goal while suffering the loss.
The D3 Cougars will be back in action on December 2 & 3, when they take on the Concordia Cardinals in a pair of games. Cleary hosts on Saturday, December 3, with the puck dropping at 1:30 PM.
