Cleary ACHA D3 Plays First Ever Games
(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary University ACHA Division 3 hockey team played the program's first ever games this weekend, as they played a pair of games vs. the Calvin College Knights.
In Game 1 vs. Calvin: It was all Knights, as the visitors jumped on board with three goals in the first period, four more in the second period, and scored twice in the game's final minute to earn the victory 9-0. Cleary's Ryan Berg was under assault all game, as he faced 73 shots on goal, while make 64 saves in his collegiate debut.
In Game 2 at Calvin: Cleary scored for the first time shortly after Calvin had taken the lead as Wayne Taiman found the back of the net, with assists from Logan Porter and Landen Horelski. Unfortunately, the Knights would score a flurry of goals, and took game two by a score of 6-1.
Cleary drops to 0-2 to start the season. The D3 Cougars will be back in action next weekend, when they play a home and home series with the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils.
