Cougars Men and Women Both Take 2nd at JV Invitational

(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougars men's and women's golf team hosted a JV invitational at Chemung Hills Golf Club on Friday and saw both teams come away with 2nd place finishes.
For the Men:
- Connor Stiles posted the low round of the day, shooting a +4, 76, to claim medalist honors
- Johnny Fackler was entered as an individual and shot an 83 to finish in a tie for 6th place
- Ricky Plait shot an 86 to finish in 16th place
- Garrett Earegood and Chad Kiefer both shot 87, to tie for 17th place
- Max Mineni shot a 99
As a team, the Cougars shot 336 and tied for 2nd place with Siena Heights. Lourdes won with a score of 326.
For the Women:
- Olivia Rushton led the way with a 92 to finish in a tie for 4th place
- Kelsey Elliott finished two strokes back with a 94 to tie for 6th place
- Lauryn Jerke was right behind with a 96 to tie for 9th place
- Jana L'Esperance posted a 100 to finish in 12th
- Maryann Montgomery and Emma Smith both shot a 108 to tie for 16th. Emma Smith was entered as an individual
- Carman McMahon shot a 119 to finish in 21st
As a team, the Cougars shot 382 to finish in 2nd place. Grace College won with a 363.
The Cleary women will be back in action next week when they play in the WHAC Fall Preview. The Cleary men will next be in action on Monday, October 10, when they play in the Gray Wolf Invitational.
