Bowling Shines at AHBA Championships; AHBA Conference Awards Announced
(Monroe, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's bowling teams were in action for the second straight day, this time competing in the AHBA Championship meet at the Monroe Sports Center in Monroe.
In the Men's Meet:
- Ethan Parker took home 2nd place with a three-game series of 244-202-214, totalling 660 pins
- With a three-game series of 214-183-207 was Howie Hammond, who finished in 11th
- Finishing in 22nd place was AJ Clark, who had a three-game series of 195-180-159
- Tyler Koehn would finish in 26th, with a three-game series of 202-181-42
- With a three-game series of 164-193-149 was Ryan Ching, who finished in 29th
- Alex Ryan would lead the JV team with a 4th place individual finish, with games of 190-204-214
As a team, Cleary knocked down 5,857 pins, and finished in 2nd place at the meet.
In the Women's Meet:
- Grace Polega finished in 4th place with a three-game series of 202-205-180, totalling 587 pins
- Finishing in 18th place was Aubrey Rowlson, who had a three-game series of 181-146-203
- With a three-game series of 169-202-150 was Olivia Solomon, who finished in 21st
- Courtney Witten would finish in 22nd, with three-games of 183-171-166
As a team, Cleary knocked down 5,223 pins, and finished in 4th place at the meet.
Also announced was the AHBA Conference awards, and multiple Cougars were recognized.
Earning First Team All-AHBA was Grace Polega. AJ Clark, Ethan Parker, and Ryan Ching were all named Second Team All-AHBA.
Both teams will return to action on February 14-15 when they bowl in the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis.
