Travis Klocek Named WHAC's Pitcher of the Week

(Howell, MI)-- Cleary University junior pitcher Travis Klocek was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) pitcher of the week, after the league office announced the league's weekly awards on Monday.

Klocek earned the recognition for his performance this past Tuesday against the Rio Grande Red Storm, where he threw a complete game shutout to pick up his third win of the season.  Klocek only allowed three hits, while walking one in the game.  This was the second complete game and shutout Klocek has thrown this season, as he threw a no-hitter against Point Park on February 18.

Klocek currently has a 3-1 record and a 2.17 ERA as of March 14.  He, and the rest of the Cougars have a busy week ahead, as they host the Alma College Scots on Tuesday, March 15.  The Cougars will also play two games a piece against Concordia and UM-Dearborn this Saturday and Sunday, respectively, with both series' games being held at Lake Trust Stadium.
