Esports Weekly Recap: Week of March 9
(Howell, MI)-- Here is the recap for Cleary Esports action for the week of March 9:
We only had three games this past week, with a lot of teams being on spring break. The week started out with a Rocket League match against Cedarville on Tuesday, which our boys were able to make quick work of in 3-1 fashion. Colin Jetten had a great series, and was team MVP in the win. The NACE season is now concluded for RL, finishing with a 2-4 record and a 5th place finish in the Rust Belt Conference. GLEC play goes on, and the team looks towards the Michigan State Tournament on the 28th of this month for a good cap to their season.
Valorant had two games, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday. On Wednesday the boys matched up with Blinn, a collegiate Valorant powerhouse, and dropped the series 0-2 (3-13, 4-13). Their NACE record drops to 0-6, with the final NACE game of the season against Rutgers coming up this week. NACE continues to be a valuable training ground for the WHAC against the best of the best teams in the country, and the guys are undeterred by the record. On Thursday, Valorant matched up against Bethel in WHAC play, and played like they were the better team- making quick work of Bethel in 2-0 (13-5, 13-6) fashion. Team MVP Kaden Patterson, who started this season as a fill-in player, stepped into the game and dominated with a series Kill/Death/Assist ratio of 40-24-14. Make no mistake however, every player on the team had a good game. Cleary moves to 3-2 in the WHAC, and rounds out our WHAC regular season over the next two weeks with games against conference front-runners Lawrence Tech and Indiana Tech.
