(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar baseball team welcomed the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils back to Lake Trust Stadium for what was supposed to be a second double-header in as many days, but the weather would decide to spoil the day for both teams.
In Game 1: LTU jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, and only allowed Cleary to get as close as a three run deficit the rest of the game, as the Blue Devils scored five runs in three separate innings to go onto win 17-11. Kristian Scalf was productive in the leadoff spot, going 4/5 with a home run, 2 runs, and 3 RBI. Billy Flohr continued to keep the bat hot, as he went 3/4 with 2 runs, while Zach Agemak went 2/3 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.
Haden Fisk suffered the loss on the mound, allowing 7 runs (5 earned) on 7 hits in one inning of work.
Game 2 was delayed to start due to heavy rain, and was suspended due to lightning in the bottom of the 2nd inning. No makeup date has been announced.
Cleary drops to 15-14, 4-7 in the WHAC. The Cougars are next scheduled to travel to Livonia on Friday, April 7, to take on the Madonna Crusaders in a WHAC double-header. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
