(North Vernon, IN)-- The Cleary Cougar baseball team completed it's series sweep of the IUPUC Crimson Pride, winning games 3 & 4 Sunday afternoon in Indiana.
In Game 3: Jacob Savina continuned to dominate, and picked up his first win in Cleary red & blue, as he struck out 7, allowed 3 hits, walked 0, and allowed 0 runs in his 6 innings of action. Haden Fisk pitched the game's final inning of shutout baseball. The Cougars scored in 5 of the 7 innings to earn a 9-0 victory. Billy Flohr and Sam Browne each hit home runs, and had 2 & 3 RBI respectively. Kristian Scalf led the offense, going 2/3 with 3 runs scored, adding an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base.
In Game 4: Cleary would need extra innings to pick up the win, as the two teams were tied 4-4 after the 3rd inning. It would remain tied until the top of the 9th, when Cleary would score 4 runs, and Colin Brazil continued to pitch lights out, as he earned his 1st victory of the season. Sam Browne and Jacob Townley each had 3 hits for Cleary, while Townley also added 2 RBI.
With the 4-game series sweep, Cleary is now 10-4 overall, and have won five straight games. They'll take that winning streak to Georgetown, KY, where they'll take on the Georgetown Tigers in a two-game series on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
